Update from Administrator – August 24, 2021
August 24, 2021
Dear Families,
COVID cases have been rising throughout the state and we have been able to keep it from affecting our center all summer. Unfortunately, as of Friday August 20th and Monday the 23rd we had positive cases in the facility.
What this means to you and your family member. We follow the guidance from the Connecticut Department of Health and the CDC. The next steps are that we test all our staff and residents to identify any new cases. While we are in this process, we pause the visitation and group activities approximately 24 to 48 hours’ time. We can allow compassionate care visits or end of life visits. When we have the results of the tests then we can determine where we can open back up to visitation and group activities.
Based on the testing results we can open to visitation and small group activities on the third floor starting Wednesday August 25th. We do ask that, if possible, plan to have your visit outside and always wear a mask. For residents on the second floor, we will update you as soon as we can open to visitation and group activities.
We also have some of our team calling each family to notify them of the current situation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the facility.
Respectfully,
Don Davanzo
Administrator
